Obama’s Father Served in WWII

Ok, this lie fairly blatant, so it’s been spun as “misspeaking”.  Obama said in a campaign speech below that his father served in World War 2. Yeah, the communist Kenyan father that was 9 years old when the war ended. Obama was probably referring to his grandfather who did actually serve, but could the candidate who had written “dreams of my father” perhaps been trying to boost the image of his communist father seeing how most people rarely look into the facts? Probably. But why worry about who Barack’s communist father really was while Obama is trying to enforce the dreams of his father?

  1. OK, I hate this guy with a passion, but this has been addressed, like 2 years ago ! He meant to say his grandfather, which was also wrong, he also got some of the other facts wrong, but none the less, this is old news and trying to use this to paint him as a liar is dumb, there’s much better material to use !!

At the very least, this shows his lack of respect for his country, what true American wouldn’t be so proud of his heritage that he wouldn’t have those proud facts down cold !

  2. We’re aware that it’s old news, but it was submitted to be added to the list of lies, so each new item has a post to explain the lie. Sorry that we’re behind on all the lies, it’s just that they’re hard to keep up with.

  4. This is from Snopes: http://www.snopes.com/politics/obama/service.asp

It gives a very logical explanation of the very obvious mis-statement.

And it was covered by the press quite well at the time: http://thecaucus.blogs.nytimes.com/2008/05/27/obamas-staff-corrects-wwii-story/

As Daniel Patrick Monyihan said “people are entitled to their own opinion, but they are not entitled to their own facts.”

  5. Obama has said in more than one speech of his father serving in WWII. Is it a trivial lie? Yes, but one worth mentioning. It’s one thing to say he mis-spoke once, but to repeatedly say his father served pushes the mistake to an out right lie.

The point is if he lies over such trival matters, he’ll lie about anything.
