Closing out his third year of his presidency Barack Obama has really stepped it up a notch.

Obama’s gone from opposing Bush’s signing statements to stretching the law even further than bush ever had. The first example is from just yesterday as he said, “I refuse to take ‘No’ for an answer… when Congress refuses to act in a way that hurts our economy and puts people at risk, I have an obligation as president to do what I can without them.” And so Obama’s tried to do everything that he can get away with without them like making a recess appointment while congress isn’t by definition on recess.

Ignoring the constitution and abusing the recess appointment isn’t the most offensive thing Obama’s done to our Constitution, just the latest. Obama’s managed to get both sides against him by choosing to pass a law that would allow him to hold any American citizen indefinitely – completely ignoring the constitution or civil liberties.
