2012 State of the Union Lies
Just because there isn’t much fresh content doesn’t mean that their wasn’t any 2012 State of the Union Lies. Here’s a GOP recap of Obama’s Rhetoric this year compared to the promises of yesteryear:
In reality most of Obama’s promises have just resulted in Obama Failures or a failure for the country. So although Obama talks a good game about the future of America he’s failed over and over in the past. Obama talked about energy independence but failed to approve the keystone pipeline. Obama scolded colleges for their high tuition rates but approves the government subsidies of college tuition. Obama praises the military while his policies will be firing thousands of them. Obama speaks of how he wants to work with business owners to help create new jobs but then recommends a new tax to double the amount that millionaire business owners would pay that could have been used to create jobs. Obama must have been referring to working with business owners to create government jobs.
And Obama wasn’t shy about how much he likes government Jobs. He touted the success of Government Motors (GM) although Ford is thriving without being subsidized by a bailout and Toyota had a literal Tsunami to deal with this year. Although he hasn’t taken over all of the private sector he decided last night to take credit for all of the job increases saying that losses occurred, “before our policies were in full effect.”
One stat that wasn’t mentioned was how Obama’s managed to have more people on food stamps than ever before – an actual stat that you can attribute to the government as they actually put out ads encouraging people to use food stamps.

The reason he has said similar things is because he is blocked time and time again by a racist tea party do nothing congress. He should of called out the tea party crazies for what they are. Economic terrorists. Barrack Obama has the credentials that rank him among the best presidents this country has seen, No matter what the tea party, and greedy rich say. Face it, Obama is here to stay!
While I don’t agree with the Moron above (Howie), the fault I find with Obama is not in any of the things he stated in the things highlighted in the video. He has zero credentials that would rank him among anything of a decent president, but his state of the union address was mostly flawed in that he is just trying to make friends. He does (or many times does not) one thing and says another. His speech is an attempt at unifying and divided country around things that most agree with, and I commend him on his attempt. In the position I have I know the responsibility is great as lead others, but I cannot begin to know the weight of the responsibility in leading the entire country. His policies are so backwards and old and I judge only the work he does, but my prayers are for him and opposition is not to my president but to the direction he is taking our country.
Okay, the real question is how was the actual success of General Motors gauged? First of all, the bailouts started before the bankruptcy was declared, and they had to make cuts anyways. Second, how did the Volt do? I ask because the Chevy Volt was the dream product that GM could supposedly revamp, much less receive the subsidies for. Again, he’s speaking in abstract here. If one looks back at the original intended goals, it speaks a different story.
@Morpheus – Which Volts? The ones that have already exploded on their own, or the ones waiting to?
He says the roads need fixed,yet roads fall apart so often.Barrack please fix the roads.I have to dodge pot holes every time that I go to college.
@RandyLeanear,
The real rhetorical question I was delivering was how the bailout really helped GM. It didn’t succeed in preventing bankruptcy, but it did put billions of tax dollars in, when GM filed for bankruptcy. Then the lie is there that GM is the most successful, when you could still argue that 1) That won’t last, and 2) Ford recovered without doing a bailout, and while still mortgaging assets. Make your pick.
